Training and Experience

I work as an honorary psychotherapist in adult mental health in an NHS hospital and as a psychodynamic counsellor in private practice. I trained at Birkbeck College, University of London and currently at the London Centre for Psychotherapy. I have experience of working with abuse, anxiety, bereavement and loss, childhood trauma, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, work-related issues, personal development, sexuality, traumatic experiences and lack of direction in life.

Personal Approach

I practice psychodynamic counselling, which means that I work in a way which explores what lies beneath our actions and repetitive patterns of behaviour, how the past affects the present; our relationships, our work and our feelings.

I offer a secure and confidential professional relationship, through which problems can be identified, confronted and resolved in the privacy of regular, reliable sessions. My work is confidential and respectful of ethnic origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, politics, culture or nationality.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and work to the Association's Code of Ethics.

About our work together

Whatever is on your mind can be brought to the session and talked about. This could be feelings, thoughts, memories or dreams. I will listen and try to help you make sense of how you feel. As our relationship develops, you will discover new insights which can lead to finding different ways of dealing with the problems and feelings that you had been struggling with - often for many years.

I can offer appointments both during the day and in the evening, depending upon spaces available at the time. For further information or to book an initial consultation, please contact me using the phone numbers or the email link in the left hand corner below.

Initial Consultation
We will have a consultation before starting, to look at how we might work together and decide if counselling would be beneficial for you. There is no commitment to ongoing sessions at this stage.

How much will it cost?
The initial consultation and sessions will cost between £45 and £65,depending on the time of the session, and your personal circumstances. Sessions can be arranged for once or twice a week.
